INTERVIEW WITH JOSH MEYERS:

BEYOND SPORTS: Josh, for how long have you been playing football and where did it all start for you?

JOSH MEYERS: I have been playing football for almost 24 years. I started playing in Virginia (Little League), so it's been a long-time passion of mine.

BEYOND SPORTS: What did you gain from your experiences playing for Montgomery College?

JOSH MEYERS: I gained invaluable experience being coached by former NFL first round draft pick Bobby Wilson (of Michigan State, and the Washington Redskins) and legendary JUCO coach Phil Martin. Coach Wilson passed on to me the same techniques that made him a superior athlete and 1st round draft pick. Coach Martin, with unmatched determination to maintain a strong defensive line, instilled in me the discipline to control the gaps and maintain responsibility.

BEYOND SPORTS: What positions did you compete at, and which ones most suited you?

JOSH MEYERS: Well, I first competed at Tight End and fit in more at Defensive End, but Ii would say I am very good at either position. I have a strong pass rush against both the inside and outside. I have learned several different techniques in beating opposing Offensive Linemen, and having played offensive-tackle as well, I have insight on the tricks and signs that most Tackles use when playing.

BEYOND SPORTS: What are your expectations for your future career? What are your aspirations?

JOSH MEYERS: I'm determined to bring it to the next level and be paid to do what I love. I really appreciate the team aspect of this sport and also want to contribute my insight to help less experienced guys raise their level of play as well.

BEYOND SPORTS: What leagues have you played in and what have you gained from your experiences?

JOSH MEYERS: Well, my highest level so far has been Minor Leagues (to include the MDFL and NAFL), and I have learned a lot from great coaching. I have dominated at this level for several years, and I am more than ready to push myself to the next level.

BEYOND SPORTS: I understand you won All-Star honors and a championship playing for the Prince William Monarchs. What do you think contributed to that success?

JOSH MEYERS: Well, our championship team had several tremendous athletes that held their own at the position, and we worked extremely well together as a unit. We also had several great coaches with a lot of knowledge.
