Leesburg-based "Beyond Sports Network" Launches
By Dan Sousa loudounprepsports.com Editor Leesburg (Sept. 6, 2007) - The owner and CEO of Leesburg-based Super Recruits LLC, former Virginia Tech kicker Jimmy Kibble, has expanded his online offerings with the launch this week of the Beyond Sports Network.
"We hope to have 10,000 athletes in the system by the end of September," said Kibble. "The entire network concept has been around since MySpace came out four years ago and since then has spawned hundreds of other networking sites. However, there is yet to come an entire network developed exclusively by athletes for athletes which benefits all those who register."
Kibble envisions a network in which local football players from schools such as Broad Run and Stone Bridge can be connected online to college and professional athletes as well as coaches, scouts and other team administrators.
The Beyond Sports Network gets an immediate jump-start with its access to the AF2 database which houses data on more than 6,000 professional athletes.
"We want to be a tool to generate exposure for athletes," said Kibble. "Wouldn't be great where you had a Donovan McNabb connected to a Jeron Gouveia in the same network."
Kibble has been working for more than 14 months to launch this new network. Unlike other websites, the Beyond Sports Network and The Athletes Network where high school players can sign up, is exclusive to athletes and coaches and not open to the general public.
"What makes our network unique is the exclusivity to athletes and coaches which adds credibility and eliminates the unnecessary clutter coaches have to go through in order to find qualified athletes," said Kibble. "There will also be a great benefit to the athlete knowing they will not just be another profile among those who do no compete."
Athletes can register and create web profiles that are accessible to coaches and player personnel in a secure and real time environment. Initially launching with football, the network will expand to other sports soon.
